Lab reports and the team project
Each lab exercise adds one chapter to your team’s report about your own system. Use the checklists before you submit; your ticks are saved in this browser.
Academic integrity. Copying from the internet, classmates or seniors is prohibited and can cost full marks. The checklists tell you what a good submission contains; the content must be your team’s own.
1. Proposal and planning
Lab I · topic 1: Team Formation, Project Assignment & Planning
Think about a new system with your team and submit a proposal covering the lab criteria.
2. Report in LaTeX
Labs II–III · topic 2: Technical Report Writing with LaTeX
Set up the team’s report on Overleaf using the template below.
3. SRS (open-ended)
Lab IV · topic 3: IEEE Software Requirements Specification (SRS)
Functional and non-functional requirements of your proposed system in the IEEE structure.
4. SDLC model selection
Lab V · topic 4: SDLC Model Selection
Select the best model for your system with a comparison matrix.
5. Data flow diagrams
Lab VI · topic 5: Data Flow Diagrams (DFD): Level 0 and Level 1
Level 0 and Level 1 DFDs (Level 2 optional) for your system.
6. Use case diagram
Lab VII · topic 6: UML Use Case Diagrams
Use case diagram and descriptions for your system.
7. Sequence and communication diagrams
Lab VIII · topic 7: UML Sequence & Communication Diagrams
For at least two use cases.
8. Class diagram
Labs IX–X · topic 8: UML Class Diagrams
Full class diagram of your system.
9. UI/UX wireframes
UI/UX lab · topic 9: UI/UX Foundations & Figma Wireframing
Wireframes and a clickable prototype in Figma.
